Sourced in France, this pair of Art Nouveau period wall mounted jardinieres or sconces made of tole brown metal painted were probably grape harvest baskets that can now be used as a whimsical wall flower holders or big scale wall-mounted light fixtures.
These late 19th century ( 1890s) big wall lights or plant pots feature an elegant shape, scalloped top edge, pine cone finals and are decorated with foliage motif.
The large metal leaves on them, uncommon shape and dark painted tole finish - with an almost rusty effect - creating a perfect visual conclusion.
I love such rare and unusual multipurpose decorative objects!
Use these sculptural baskets as planters indoor or outdoor - on the patio or under the loggia- or light up a room in your home with a pair of large wall appliques.
