This very fine pair of antique German silver candlesticks date back to Empire period and is finely decorated with classicistic patterns.

These exquisitely candleholders have a removable drip tray incised with Greek key strip and a finely chiseled bobeche raised on a cone shaped column. The column is richly decorated with three classical Greek figures , floral patterns and acanthus leaves. The column terminating in three paw feet on a round incised plinth. These impressive silver candlesticks are signed by Johann Martin Schott (1786 - 1822), a very appreciated German silversmith from Frankfurt that became Master silversmith in 1811. Hallmark ‘SCHOTT 13’. The Silver stamped '13' is the assay mark, denotes the minimum purity as 812.5 standard silver (13 löthige/loth, .812.5 (812.5/1000) the Hallmark 'Schott' indicates the name of the German Master silver maker. Original patina, Please ask for a professional polishing if you want them to be more brilliant. A beautiful silver pieces of excellent manufacturing quality that will bring a classical and refined touch to any table!
