This charming 17th Century large rectangular refectory table is a magnificent example of Tuscan rustic art. The top consists of four great solid warm brow walnut planks capped on either end with matching piece of walnut wood slab. The 3 meters long and 1 meter wide top rests on a trestle base composed of six massive turned baluster legs.
The stretcher has simple molding running the distance on either side, this makes the seat very comfortable. Wonderful rich and warm patina throughout.
In typical Tuscan fashion, this farm table is long and narrow and the construction very rustic but clever, just using wooden pegs and thick joints the top easily separates from the base for easy transportation. This is “The Table”. Wonderful and warm piece, rich of history superb and rare.
